Privacy policy
The following explains how personal data is handled when you visit this website. Personal data is information that can be used to identify you personally. This privacy policy applies to the mol.ruhr GbR website at mol.ruhr.
1. Controller and contact details
mol.ruhr GbR Represented by Katharina Mol and Jürgen Mol Lindener Str. 47 A 44879 Bochum, Germany Phone: +49 (0)234 32538082 Email: nachricht@mol.ruhr
You can use these contact details for data protection enquiries and to exercise your rights.
2. Data collected when you visit our website
When you visit our website, the server infrastructure used to deliver it processes technical access data. This includes technically necessary connection data, particularly your IP address, the time and destination of a request, browser and device information, and status and error data. This processing serves to deliver the website, control access, resolve errors and protect against misuse. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is to provide a secure and functioning website.
Recipients of technical access data are the hosting and IT service providers used to provide and secure the website. Where personal data is processed on our behalf, the necessary data processing agreements apply.
3. Contact by email and phone
The contact form collects your topic, name, email address and message. When submitted, this information is transmitted to our web server over an encrypted connection, checked and passed to the Plesk mail server configured for mol.ruhr through an authenticated, TLS-encrypted SMTP connection. The recipient is nachricht@mol.ruhr. The message is not stored in a website database. The hosting and email service providers involved process the data for transmission and delivery. The contents are then processed in our email inbox to handle your enquiry.
When you contact us by email or phone, we process the contact and message information you provide to handle your enquiry and reply. Recipients are the people dealing with your enquiry and any necessary communication and IT service providers. For contract-related enquiries, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; otherwise it is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our interest in responding to your enquiry.
Contacting us is voluntary. Without sufficient contact details or information, we may be unable to respond. Alternatively, you can email or call us directly without using the input fields.
4. Cookies, local storage and embedded content
Submitting the contact form sets a technically necessary session cookie called mol_contact for security purposes. It associates the enquiry with a protection token against third-party form submissions; the cookie lasts for the browser session. Server-side session data is cleared in accordance with PHP session management periods. To limit repeated enquiries, the IP address is pseudonymised on the server using a secret key. Only the resulting check value, the attempt count and an expiry time for a 15-minute checking window are stored. Expired entries are removed at the next form submission. Names, email addresses and messages are not stored in this protection file. The purpose is to protect the form against misuse; the legal bases are Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and, for the necessary session cookie, section 25(2), no. 2 of the German TDDDG. Neither Local Storage nor Session Storage is used, and no analytics, advertising or tracking services are employed. Fonts and design elements are displayed without external font providers, maps, videos or social media embeds.
Where strictly necessary storage or access on your device is required for technical transmission and delivery, this is governed by section 25(2) of the German TDDDG. No analytics or marketing cookies are implemented in the website files we provide.
5. Links to other websites
Project links open external websites only when you select them. Simply viewing our project cards does not load content from those websites. After you open a link, the respective operator processes your access data under its own privacy policy. Our external links do not transmit a referrer.
6. Retention periods
We retain enquiries for as long as necessary to handle them and, where applicable, perform a contract. They are then deleted unless statutory retention requirements or the necessary establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims prevent deletion. Technical access data is retained only for as long as necessary for secure operation, troubleshooting and investigation of security incidents. It is not used to create a permanent visitor directory.
7. Your rights
Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you have rights of access (Article 15 GDPR), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction of processing (Article 18) and data portability (Article 20). You may withdraw consent at any time with future effect, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
Right to object: You may object under Article 21 GDPR to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then stop processing the data concerned unless there are overriding compelling legitimate grounds or processing is required to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
We do not carry out automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects, including profiling, through this website.
8. Right to lodge a complaint
Under Article 77 GDPR, you may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the place of your residence, workplace or the alleged infringement. The authority responsible for our registered office is the North Rhine-Westphalia Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information: Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf Email: poststelle@ldi.nrw.de Website: www.ldi.nrw.de (opens in a new tab)
9. Protection of data in transit
This website is provided over HTTPS. Encryption protects communication between your browser and the website. After the encrypted form submission reaches our web server, further delivery takes place through the email services involved.
